Binding type

PUR Perfect Binding

A perfect binding made with polyurethane reactive (PUR) adhesive instead of hot-melt EVA glue. PUR is stronger and more flexible, so pages resist pulling out and the book opens wider.

Advantages

  • Pages much harder to pull out
  • Handles coated paper and temperature extremes
  • Opens flatter than standard perfect binding

Limitations

  • Slightly higher cost
  • Longer curing time before trimming in some workflows

Best for

  • Coated-paper books
  • Workbooks
  • Photo books
  • Cookbooks
