About Leaf & Spine

Leaf & Spine is a free, independent reference for people who make books — authors, self-publishers, small presses, designers and students. It brings together the numbers you need when preparing a manuscript for print (trim sizes, spine widths, margins, paper and ISBNs) with directories of publishers, prizes, magazines and fonts compiled from open data.

Everything is free to use. We do not sell printing, ISBNs or publishing packages, and we do not accept payment for listings.

The domain TerriAnnLeiDich.com previously hosted the personal website of an author and publisher. The current site is a separate, independent project: it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or written by the domain's previous owner, or with any publisher mentioned on these pages.

Calculated pages (spine widths, cover sizes, page counts, paper conversions, imposition) are generated from published printer specifications and the formulas described on our methodology page. Directory pages are compiled from open data sources credited on every page and listed on the sources page. Guides are written and reviewed by our editorial team.

Print specifications change. Always confirm final file requirements with your printer or platform before ordering.
