About Carl Zuckmayer Medal
The Carl Zuckmayer Medal (German: Carl-Zuckmayer-Medaille) is a literary prize given by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in memory of Carl Zuckmayer. The medal itself was fashioned by state artist Otto Kallenbach. The prize is also given with a 30-liter cask of Nackenheimer wine from the Weingut Gunderloch, a winery valued by Zuckmayer. The bestowal takes place on 18 January, the anniversary of Zuckmayer's death.

Eligibility and entering
Check the official rules of the Carl Zuckmayer Medal for the current eligibility window, accepted formats, residency or language requirements and any entry fee. For most established prizes the publisher submits on the author's behalf, often with a limit on entries per imprint.
If you are self-published, look for an explicit statement that independently published books are accepted, and budget for entry fees and copies for judges.
