Editorial Universitaria

Editorial Universitaria is a Chilean university press based in Santiago. It was established in 1947 with funds from private people and from the University of Chile. During its existence, it has published the works of generations of influential Chilean scientists and intellectuals. The press publishes, among other things, children's literature.

University presses publish scholarly monographs, regional titles and serious general nonfiction. Authors usually send a book proposal (overview, chapter outline, sample chapters, CV and market analysis) directly to the acquisitions editor for their field — check the press's subject list first. Manuscripts go through peer review before a contract is offered.
