Gloss Coated
Paper sealed with a clay coating and polished for shine. Colours look vivid and images sharp, but glare makes long text harder to read.

Choosing paper for your book
Request printed samples or a proof copy before committing to a stock: shade, opacity and how images reproduce are hard to judge on screen. For print-on-demand, the choice is usually limited to white or cream for black-and-white interiors and a standard or premium white for colour.
